Welcome to Avtok Nor

In the aftermath of the Dominion War, Cardassia is in disarray. During the Dominion War, the Cardassian Union's lines expanded past their traditional boundaries into the Demilitarized Zone. Now, with the Dominion pacified and the Cardassian civil revolution underway, Cardassia's main focus has been to rebuild it's society, not to maintain it's lines. This leaves many stations on the fringes of Cardassia's borders unprotected or even abandoned. Avtok Nor is one of the lucky ones.

During recent months after the Dominion's exodus, the Romulans and the Breen have begun praying upon Cardassian outposts. Many have been seized or even destroyed, and the Cardassians can do nothing about it. Having had enough, the Cardassian government has authorized the Federation, the lesser of three evils, to occupy the station and protect it from the Breen and the Romulans, who have gone back to an adversarial state after the Dominion War. Avtok Nor's position above the deuterium and dilythium rich planet Lamsatt IV also play a part in this multifaceted power struggle.

The Federation crew assigned to Avtok Nor and their captain, Hoku Tsuneo, have learned the hard way that the opinion of those in the Cardassian government is not the opinion of the inhabitants of Avtok Nor. They view this peaceful change of power to be the worst thing to have ever happened to them. The Federation has come to clean up what would rather stay dirty. What the Federation finds at Avtok Nor is a civilization gone crazy. The station is home to everything from AWOL Cardassian soldiers to wanton, diseased prostitutes. What makes things worse is that the Cardassian Union has sent a shady dignitary named Raenek Kaaltep to "help" operations and negotiations. Kaaltep seems to have his own agenda outside of helping the Federation, and what's worse it that he may be one of the residual members of the Obsidian Order.

Even through all the strife, Avtok Nor is a thrilling place to be stationed and a place to be if you want to be in the thick of things. On Avtok Nor, something is always happening. Avtok Nor always finds a way to be exciting. Join our fight to protect Avtok Nor.
